About Agri-coup
Agri-coup is a family-owned and -run business that produces antibiotic-free chickens and free-range organic eggs.
We have been working in partnership with DLJ Holdings, with the support of the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development. We, in partnership with DLJ, have awards for being the best broiler producers in the northwest on three occasions in the past 10 years.

Humane animal welfare
Agri-coup’s humane animal welfare standards are an ever-changing set of best practices in the ethical treatment of our chickens.

We always aim to improve, and the well-being of our chickens is always our top priority. As per our commitment to the humane treatment of our chickens, we use Slow Induction Anaesthesia (SIA). We use SIA to render our chickens unconscious in the six to seven minutes, all in the safety of the drawers that they were transported in. We have and will never use suffocation or stunning on our chickens. This helps to alleviate the chickens’ pain, stress, fear, and suffering.

Many poultry producers these days hide behind third-party certifications. We wholeheartedly support the Global Animal Partnership and adhere to the guidelines set by the Safe Quality Food Institute. We, however, choose not to participate in third-party certifications, as they are not inclusive of our chickens’ lives. Agri-coup’s humane animal welfare standards are some of the most thorough, extensive, and fully integrated programs in the industry as we know it today.

We set the standard by proving that we always go above and beyond what is required of us. It is of utmost importance that we push the bar of humane animal welfare higher and higher.
That is our goal.
